Collection: Victoria Jansen-Riley

I studied at the University of Tasmania, and my arts practice has included working
for several years in the mediums of kiln formed glass, contemporary leadlight glass,
and paintings. My imagery is all about the coastal environment as I am captivated by
the textures, colours and atmospheres found there.
I have been involved in several group and solo exhibitions, and one of my
predominant interests was working as an art curator.
My recent paintings have featured detailed fantasy images in the medium of
gouache and ink; and I am currently working on miniature seascape oil paintings on
timber board.
The method that I use in creating kiln formed glass sculpture has often been an
evolving, experimental style. This has recently progressed towards creating fantasy
images in the form of ‘Sea Tentacle Creatures’, and I hope to explore this theme
further.
